Taber Youth Raises over $4100 for Alzheimers

The Alzheimer Society in Lethbridge is celebrating with Macrae Setoguchi from Taber who raised $4100 in honor of his grandparents who are/were living with the illness. Macrae was supported by his family and friends from across North America to help those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias as part of the Investors Group Memory Walk on June 16.

The miraculous part of the story is that Macrae is only 11 years old. He was honoured at the walk for his contributions by acheiving Top Youth Fundraiser for the local walk. He is also entered in the top youth fundraiser for the province where he could win a Nintedo 3DS. He had a little competition from Tori Solomon Duda who raised over $2000.

“It’s exciting to see youth people getting involved with fundraising for a good cause. Alzheimer’s disease touches many lives including the grandchildren. We congratulated both youth Macrae and Tori for a job well done” says Diane Herrick, Manager, Community Relations. “Everyone who came out to support the work we do are our local heroes.”
