Performers announced for Airshow

The Lethbridge International Air Show Association is proud to release the official performer list for the 2012 Alberta International Air Show. Beginning with the new 8:00 gate opening time, audiences will be treated to nearly 8 hours of flying and excitement starting as early as 9:00 on both days (July 21 and 22).

This may prove to be the fastest and loudest year ever, with as many as 10 Jet acts confirmed.  From the always popular Firecat and CF-18 to the return of local performer Full Tilt Boogie, military buffs, history buffs, and thrill seekers alike will enjoy the new all day format of the 2012 show.

Confirmed performers include  Bud Granley, Rich Perkins, Pete McLeod, “Hawk One”, SkyHawks, CF-18 Demo Team, Dave Matheson, Jim Hrymack, John Mrazek, INDY Boys, Full Tilt Boogie, and Smokin’ Gun.

Confirmed flying aircraft are  C130 Hercules, Fouga, L-39, Edge 540, F-86 Sabre, SkyDivers, MX-2, CF-18, Harvards, L-29s, Jet Bus, Jet Outhouse, Jet Dog House, Jet 18 Wheeler, JEt “Wheel Stander” Truck.

Local 18th Air Defense have coordinated a tactical demonstration of a mock terrorist attack.  The first ever “TAC DEMO” was debuted right here in Lethbridge during the 2008 performance, and it has become a very popular addition to several air shows across North America.
During the TAC DEMO, a small group of “terrorists” will attack and pin down a small convoy of local reservists.  The ensuing battle involves locally based Howitzer guns, mortars and air support from a wing of fast moving CF-18 attack planes, including full pyrotechnics and military radio audio. Crowds can expect a high energy, realistic demonstration of exactly how such a battle might play out for military in war zones around the world.
