Lethbridge NewsWickham resigns from Lethbridge public school board
The Lethbridge School District Board of Trustees received and approved a letter of resignation from Trustee Dennis Wickham at its board meeting Tuesday.
Board Chair Gary Bartlett indicated the board was supportive of Trustee Wickham’s belief that his continued presence would be a distraction to the operation of the District. Bartlett thanked trustee Wickham for his contributions to the district and the board during his tenure as trustee.
The Board decided it would continue for the balance of this term of office with six trustees. “Because we do not have a ward system, the board felt that all segments of our community will still receive representation, therefore a bye-election will not be called,” stated Board Chair Gary Bartlett.
The next municipal election is scheduled for October, 2013.
