Multi-vehicle collision in Southside alley
According to bystander, Brina Ingraham, earlier this evening, someone stole a truck and sped down an alley near Lakemount Boulevard South. The truck ran into a car, which ended up on the hood of the truck, as well as on a power line and a nearby shed. The passenger side of the car was severely damaged.
Once paramedics arrived, the driver of the truck was able to walk to a stretcher, and the driver of the car was treated with oxygen for shock and minor injuries.
LRPS released the following information on April 13 regarding this incident.
At 17:30, on April 12th a male was working on the roof of his house in the 1600 block of Lakemount Boulevard when he heard his vehicle start. The male climbed down to investigate and noted his vehicle traveling in the lane. The truck swerved towards the male, then sped off southbound towards Spruce Drive. As the truck exited the lane it struck a west bound car on Spruce Drive. The force of the collision drove both vehicles to the entrance of the lane on the south side of Spruce Drive with the car resting on the hood of the truck.
The driver of the car was taken by ambulance for treatment of what is believed to be non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the stolen truck has been identified as Ruben Crying Head. He was charged with Impaired Driving over .08, Impaired driving causing bodily harm, Dangerous Driving and Disqualified Driving. Crying Head was remanded in custody, and was to appear by closed circuit television in Lethbridge Provincial court on April 13th.
