Missing youth located; assault on Westside
Around 20:18 yesterday, Lethbridge Regional Police responded to a report that a missing teen from Hope, BC, was at the Boys and Girls Club along the 1400 block of 8 Avenue North.
Police attended and located Jessica Janis Webber.
No other information regarding this incident was released.
Around 3:12 this morning, police responded to a report of an assault at a home along Mic Mac Boulevard.
A 24-year-old male cut a 20-year-old female with a piece of glass during an altercation. A 21-year-old male who intervened was also assaulted. When police arrived, the male and female victims were located outside the home, but the 24-year-old male remained inside. He refused to come out of the home, and around 6:30 this morning he lit a mattress on fire. Police entered the home, extinguished the small fire and arrested the male without further incident.
The female was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. It was not stated what, if any injuries the male victim received.
Jason Samuel McCrae, 24, is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count each of assault, arson to property, unlawful confinement, mischief and failing to comply with a probation order. He was scheduled to appear in court today.
Lethbridge Regional Police have received a complaint and are investigating a report that a small dog died after consuming poisoned food in the Legacy Ridge area.
Police advise pet owners to always keep an eye on their dogs to ensure they do not eat strange food, garbage or other items that could potentially harm them.
On August 10, Lethbridge Regional Police stated the investigation regarding this incident has been concluded.
There is no evidence to suggest any risk to other pets and police are not pursuing any other avenues of investigation at this time.
