Impaired driver almost caused accident last night

Around 19:33 yesterday, police responded to a report that a vehicle nearly rear-ended another vehicle. An investigation revealed that the SUV responsible had significant front end damage because it struck a traffic post. The investigation also resulted in the driver being arrested and charged.

Dixie Slofstra, is charged with impaired driving, driving over .08, dangerous driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

Sometime during the night of August 15, unknown persons stole $150 worth of change from a vehicle parked on St. Anne Place North.

Sometime yesterday unknown culprit(s) stole compact discs from a truck parked in the 2300 block of 13 Street North.

    Who keeps $150 worth of change in a car? That is inviting would-be thieves. That’s alot of change. Don’t keep money or any valuables in your car. Simple.

      Cause we all count our pennies when we toss them in the change bucket. Sounds like someone really wants a buck fifty from insurance ;)
