Lethbridge NewsLethbridge housing starts down over last year
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation released this week prelimiary figures for June housing starts in Lethbridge, and we’re down by about 30% over last year.
Single detached housing starts came in at only 44 last month, compared to 59 for the previous June. Multi-family starts last month were only 6, a drop from 12 in June 2011. Total starts were an even 50, compared to 71 the year before, a drop of nearly 30%.
Keep in mind that housing starts do not include projects already underway, and multi-family projects often take several months to complete.
